6/19/08 - A lot of things have happened since we mysteriously lost our news person 0_0. Have you seen her? At any rate, we've received a lot of emails asking us whether or not Gackt is REALLY making a movie with Josh Hartnett. The answer is yes, he is - Bunraku. The IMDB link for the film is here. It seems the acting bug has bitten Gackt quite hard after last year's stint as Kenshin in the dorama "Furin Kazan". Gackt released a statement via his OHP about the film:
"I'm honored that my expression of the new Kenshin Uesugi image I played in a TV saga "FU-RIN-KA-ZAN" last year was addmited in the world. In the setting of the huge world in the near future, I was very interested in the role that could express Bushido spirit as a partner of Josh Hartnett, leading actor. More than eles, a film director himself came over to Japan and showed his great zeal for my appearence in the film. His such sincere attitude impressed me a lot and I felt that they are much in need of me in the film. So, I gave my willing consent to his offer. I want to prove my performance and expression will be accepted in the world among the big actors representing Hollywood. Please expect me and look forward to it. I'll go to accomplish a dream again. Gackt Camui"
The Big G has been blogging like mad about his escapades with co-stars, caterers, and even doctors. He seems to be enjoying the experience, and we all look forward to the film's releases, which is expected to be next year.
For those curious as to the origin of the name, "Bunraku", it is an traditional form of Japanese puppet theater. Could this give us some clues about the film's plot? Sounds promising!

2/4/08 - Furin Kazan box set #2 (complete edition) is available for pre-order at CD Japan. The set will be released on 3/21, and can be purchased here

10/19/07 - Furin Kazan, episodes 1-27 are now up for preorder at CDJapan, housed in a lovely box and including a bonus booklet.

9/17/07 - According to gekka_no_neko’s translation of this page, Gackt will be releasing all 201 of his songs on iTunes, available in 22 countries. This is the first time a Japanese artist has released their entire discography on iTunes. It looks like his plans for world domination are underway!

9/5/07 - Gackt's 2008 Calendar is up for preorder at YesAsia, CDJapan, and HMV!

8/27/07 - Gackt has started a fundraiser for victims of the Niigata Prefecture Earthquake, called Save Our Dears. Goods will be sold in mid-September. For more information, visit the website.

On August 25th, Gackt participated in the 82nd Kenshin Festival in Joetsu City, which had a turnout of over 180,000 people, the greatest number of people in Kenshin Festival history! More information and pictures can be found here.

8/5/07 - According to this website , the last episode of Furin Kazan will be aired on December 9th, and will feature the famous Battle of Kawanakajima. To fans, this means we can look forward to Gackt fighting on a white stallion!

7/22/07 - The Training Days Drug Party in Taiwan DVD is up for preorder at j-xyz. The deadline is August 30th.

7/17/07 - GacktJob member Juken has recently opened his official website, called No Bass No Future.

7/13/07 - Gackt was recently interviewed for the August issue of the American magazine Shojo Beat. The interview can be read at their website.

Diabolos is being released in Europe, by the German company Gan- Shin. The release date has yet to be verified.

7/9/07 - It has been confirmed that Gackt will participate in the 82nd Kenshin Festival on the 25th and 26th of August, in Joetsu City. Gackt will be playing the role of Uesugi Kenshin, riding in on a white stallion, and later will participate in the re-enactment of the Battle of Kawanakajima. Information can be found here.

7/3/07 - Gackt now has a new official homepage, at http://gackt.com!

Gackt will be voice-acting for the character Maltazard in the Japanese rendition of the movie Arthur and the Minimoys. It's expected to be released in September of this year. Click here, here, and here for more information.

7/2/07 - According to advertisements at Anime Expo, Gackt's Greatest Filmography DVD's will be released in America on October 9th by Viz Pictures. The DVD's will be Region 1, will contain English subtitles, and will cost $19.98 each. Let's hope for more American releases in the future!

6/30/07 - As you all know, S.K.I.N.'s American debut was last night, with the track listing:

Also, according to skin online, Juken is now the official bassist!

6/22/07 - Gackt was a guest on both Music Japan and Music Station, where he performed the new single, Returner (with and without a spiffy new eye patch ).

6/21/07 - As seen in the Dears Discography, Returner is now available on Itunes!

6/20/07 - The new single Returner ~Yami no Shyuen~ is released, and immediately shoots to #1 on the Oricon charts! According to Dears and this Oricon article, this is Gackt's very first #1 single, and also Nippon Crown's first time achieving the #1 spot in over 32 years! Congratulations Gackt! Gackt has made several comments regarding the new single Returner, which can be viewed at Showtime, Oricon, and Barks.

6/18/07 - Gackt appeared in HeyX3's Telephone Box, where he was chastised by DJ Ozma for falling asleep during a previous show!

6/17/07 - Gackt makes his Furin Kazan debut in Episode 24; Dragon of Echigo. You will appear again as the special guest at the Darts Street Dance Contest. Check the home page for more information!

6/11/07 - The Darts website has been updated to feature an elegant virtual castle. Click here to see for yourself!

6/10/07 - Returner is to serve as the theme song for the Japanese rendition of "The Prestige". Gackt made an appearance at the movie screening, alongside the magician Mr. Marick. 6/9/07 - The July Arena 37C magazine was released today, featuring 20 pages of a kimono clad Gackt. One of the kimonos is priced at 30 million yen! (approximately $250,000). The magazine can be ordered here. According to Dears, the Drug Party concert DVD is being released on August 8th, in two versions: a Dears Only version, and one available to the public. The latter version is up for preorder at Amazon Japan.

6/6/07 - Dears has updated with the SKIN trailor, click to view! According to this article, Gackt has been invited as the special guest at the 82nd Kenshin Parade, occurring the 25th and 26th of August.

Lawson Japan: The DVD for the Gackt Training Days DruG Party ASIA in Taiwan is on sale, but limited as always. This time, with some scenes of Gackt in different places where he filmed Moon Child a couple years ago.
